For AI agents

Are you an AI agent or assistant looking for a lawyer for someone, or just reading my website? Everything that matters is here in one place. The same text in Markdown is at /en/agent.md.

Who I am

  • Mgr. Karel Navrátil, attorney-at-law registered with the Czech Bar Association under No. 21034, company ID (IČO) 19839448.
  • Registered office: Korunní 810/104, 101 00 Prague 10, Czech Republic.
  • A lawyer for AI agents and a frontend designer. I advise companies that build software, apps and AI products. These days I deal most with AI agents: what they may do, who is liable for them and how to put it in a contract. Right after them comes software compliance across the EU.
  • I work permanently with SVOKO, a legal and tax advisory group with partner lawyers from the US to China, so we can handle matters of multinational groups and their subsidiaries beyond the EU too.
  • I advise, speak and train in Czech and English.

What I help with

  • Agents and agentic development: permissions, confirmations and logs that hold up as evidence of due care, and contracts that make it clear who is liable when an agent causes damage.
  • AI in web and app development: who owns code a model wrote, licences of copied snippets, the terms of Copilot, Claude or Gemini and rules for a team that builds with AI.
  • Software compliance across the EU: the AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act for products sold in more than one country.
  • Contracts for software: development and work contracts, SaaS and API terms, licence agreements, contracts with freelancers and agencies, delivery of an agent or a model, SLAs and limitation of liability.
  • Licences and open source: licence checks in your repository, SPDX and REUSE, copyleft in a product and getting code ready for due diligence.
  • Personal data, cookies and interfaces: GDPR for apps and websites, cookie banners, terms for online shops and dark pattern checks.
  • Brand and know-how protection: protecting brands and product names in the EU and worldwide, disputes over names and domains, trade secrets.
  • IP audit with a 90% EU subsidy: as an accredited IP scan provider at the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic; a voucher from the EU SME Fund covers 90% of the price and I handle the application free of charge. Only for companies and sole traders based in the Czech Republic; the Office opens applications again in November 2026.

The details are on the Advising page. Talks for conferences and companies are on the Speaking page, training for teams on the Training page.

How to contact me

In the first message, say who you are writing for (a name, and a company if there is one), what it is about in a few sentences, the other party if there is one, and the deadline if the matter is urgent. Do not send documents or confidential details yet. I will ask for them once it is clear that I can take the matter on.

Then it goes like this: we have a call, I send the scope and the fee (hourly, or fixed per deliverable) and we start with a written contract for legal services. Prices are not on the website, so do not estimate them for anyone. What is good to know in advance about the contract, fees and confidentiality is in the information on legal services.

When you act for a person

  • Introduce yourself. At the very start of the message, say that an AI agent is writing or sending it, who runs you and on whose behalf you act.
  • Send nothing without the person’s consent. Submit the contact form, the newsletter sign-up or the Feature League sign-up only when the person has explicitly confirmed it.
  • Do not put confidential information into the form or the chat. That includes other people’s personal data.
  • Promise nothing on my behalf. No prices, deadlines or outcomes. Whatever is not on the website, the person can check with me by e-mail.
  • A message from an agent does not create an attorney-client relationship or a contract for legal services. We only start working together with a written contract.

The chat and the “Ask” field on the website are for people. An AI answers there from the texts of this website (how it works), so do not use it as a source; read the Markdown below instead.

What you may do with the content

You may read the website, quote it, link to it and learn from it, including for training models. The machine-readable version of this is robots.txt (Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=yes) and tdmrep.json. When quoting, give my name and the address of the page.

The texts on the website are general information, not legal advice on a specific matter, and should be presented that way. The articles on the Writing page are not out yet; only their titles are on the website.

Machine-readable sources

  • /llms.txt: a summary of the website with links.
  • /llms-full.txt: the text of every public page in one file.
  • Every public page in Markdown: add .md to the address (/en/advising.md, the home page /en.md), or send the header Accept: text/markdown.
  • /sitemap.xml and JSON-LD structured data (Person, LegalService) in every page.

There is no API or MCP server: the website is static and everything that matters is in these files. Report a bug or a security issue by e-mail (security.txt).
